About me

Barbara Mella

In the depth of winter, I finally learned that within me there lay an invincible summer. - Albert Camus

My background

I approach life with a sense of wonder, with openness, and enthusiasm so my journey has been diverse and interesting. I've done many different jobs, I have moved countries, I have travelled a lot...

I've spent my life learning, exploring and being inspired: talking and listening to people, visiting new places, trying novel experiences, reading books, watching films, sitting still in silence, walking in nature, being taught by wonderful teachers...

Interest, instinct, circumstances and passion have guided me towards bodywork, yoga, and more. I approach my work with creativity and passion, in complete awe of the human body and how, through it, we can find harmony with ourselves.

My training

I have trained as yoga teacher in Mysore, India, with the most influential teachers of Ashtanga. Since then, I have integrated other styles of yoga into my practice and teaching, especially Iyengar, Scaravelli, Yin/Yan and Flow, while working with inspiring and supportive teachers in England, India, America and Italy.

I have trained in Postnatal Yoga and in Early Years/ Family Yoga with Sitaram through The Life Centre and The British Wheel of Yoga.

I hold ITEC massage qualifications from the UK, and I've had the great fortune to train in Chavutti Thirumal in India.
